28 February, 2006: Creation of the non government Association Vlady & Isabel
EL UNIVERSAL - Since "we still cannot trust our governments" when dealing with art heritage, declared Carlos Diaz and Isabel Diaz, Vlady's respective nephew and widow, we intend to create during the following weeks a non-government Association Vlady Isabel in order to watch over the 4,601 works of art given by the Russian-born painter to the people of Mexico.
Out of this number of works, only 500 were delivered to the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA). The remaining will be given at the moment decided by the artist's widow Isabel. Once all the works of art will be in possession of the Institute, the Association will be responsible for the promotion of the paintings throughout the national capital, the various states of the Mexican Republic and as well on the international arena.
